Together We Rise

Land Acknowledgement

Rooted & Rising was created on Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We recognize and honour the deep relationships Indigenous peoples have with this land and the generations who have cared for it since time immemorial.

This acknowledgement is not only about recognizing the land, but about committing to action. Rooted & Rising was founded to support Indigenous girls, young women, and Two-Spirit individuals by creating connection, uplifting Indigenous leadership, and improving access to resources. Through mentorship, representation, and community knowledge, we strive to reduce barriers and create pathways for Indigenous youth to grow, lead, and thrive.

Rooted & Rising is guided by the Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, which call for systemic change to address the violence, discrimination, and barriers faced by Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals. These calls emphasize the need for greater access to services, culturally grounded supports, community leadership, and increased visibility and representation.

By creating a centralized, culturally rooted resource hub, Rooted & Rising works to address some of these barriers by connecting Indigenous girls, young women, and Two-Spirit individuals to the supports, opportunities, and mentorship available to them. Through strengthening access to resources and uplifting Indigenous voices and leadership, this initiative aims to contribute to safer, stronger, and more connected communities.

This work also aligns with the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, particularly those addressing Indigenous health, youth empowerment, and the need to confront violence against Indigenous women and girls.

Our commitment to the calls for justice

What is
Rooted Rising resource hub?

This platform is a centralized, culturally grounded resource hub created for Indigenous girls, young women, and Two-Spirit individuals. Our goal is to bridge the gap between Regina and Treaty 4 community members and the many supports that already exist, making resources easier to find, understand, and access through our Wheel of Resources.

Rooted in Indigenous teachings and mentorship, we uplift Indigenous voices and leadership while reducing stigma around seeking help. By combining accessible information with representation and community wisdom, we aim to empower Indigenous youth to dream boldly and pursue the futures they deserve.
